A major objective of the ChatMED project is to ensure that our AI solutions do not remain theoretical concepts but become practical, life-saving tools in real-world healthcare settings. Following the success of our industry panel and networking sessions, we are proud to announce that formal partnerships have now been established with four pivotal industry players.
1. Sorsix: The Gateway to National Implementation
Our partnership with Sorsix represents the critical bridge between academic research and clinical application. As the vendor for the National Health Information System, Sorsix manages the digital backbone of primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare in North Macedonia, as well as systems in Australia, New Zealand, Serbia, Canada, South Africa, and Namibia. This partnership focuses on the practical implementation of ChatMED within real clinical workflows. Specifically, we are exploring how to embed our Generative AI models directly into Sorsix’s Pinga system. This will allow doctors to access AI-driven diagnosis predictions and decision support tools seamlessly within the electronic health records they use every day.
2. Fingerprint Diagnostics: Innovating Early Cancer Detection
Enriching our AI with high-quality, specialized domain knowledge is essential for accuracy. We have formally partnered with Fingerprint Diagnostics, a cutting-edge research company renowned for inventing a novel methodology for early cancer detection from blood samples. This alliance is crucial for the scientific depth of the ChatMED platform. By integrating Fingerprint Diagnostics’ extensive domain expertise and unique datasets, we can train our models to recognize subtle patterns in diagnostics that standard models might miss. This aligns perfectly with our recent focus on cancer diagnosis innovation during our 2025 Summer School activities.
3. Bioengineering: Expanding into Microbiology
To ensure ChatMED provides a holistic medical perspective, we must look beyond standard imaging and records. Our partnership with Bioengineering, a microbiology laboratory, brings vital laboratory-grade insights into the project. This collaboration could ensure that the AI agents can accurately reason about infectious diseases and lab results, adding another layer of sophistication to our multi-agent diagnostic systems.
4. Ekonet: Powering the Infrastructure
Deploying AI in hospitals requires robust, secure, and often specialized hardware. Ekonet, part of the renowned Kontron Group, joins us as our infrastructure solutions partner. Ekonet brings expertise in embedded solutions and offline support. Together, we are exploring the development of innovative embedded devices that allow doctors to use ChatMED “on the fly”, even without constant internet connectivity. This includes embedding Speech-to-Text and recommendation models directly into secure medical devices, bringing AI support right to the point of care.
These four partnerships transform ChatMED from a research initiative into a connected ecosystem. By combining Sorsix’s deployment scale, Fingerprint Diagnostics’ and Bioengineering’s scientific depth, and Ekonet’s hardware resilience, we are building a platform that is not only intelligent but deployable, scalable, and ready for the real world.
